Paloma High School is ordinary by anyone’s standards. It’s got the same cliques, the same prejudices, the same suspect cafeteria food. And like every high school, every student has something to hide—whether it’s Kat, the thespian who conceals her trust issues onstage; or Valentine, the neurotic genius who’s planted the seed of a school scandal.
When that scandal bubbles over, and rumors of a teacher-student affair surface, everyone starts hunting for someone to blame. For the unlikely allies at the heart of it all, the collision of their seven ordinary-seeming lives results in extraordinary change.

I'm not going to talk much about this book because I want you to discover it by yourselves but as I've read it and I've liked it, I want to tell you the reasons why you all should read it. First of all, when I received it, I thought it was going to be a self-help book, and honestly, I've never read one of those so I was scared I was not going to like it. In the end, not only it wasn't a self-help book, but I loved it

One thing that surprised me from the very first was that the book followed seven characters so there were 7 POV's, the first impression you take is that there will be too many issues to deal with, but believe when I say you can handle it perfectly. It's incredible how the author has managed to create a voice for every character, each so different from the others that if there wasn't each characters name at the start of a chapter you would recognise the character without any problem.

The writing was really easy to follow for someone who hasn't english as the native language. I learned a lot of new vocabulary as the book has dialogs written in a very informal way. However, there was one character's POV (Juniper) who was really difficult to understant, I think it was written in an odd way of poetry which I found interesting but hard to follow. Although what I've said, I was hooked to this book from the beginning, which is something difficult for me in books wrote in foreign languages.

About the student-teacher issue, I must say I thought it was going to be more important than it was, I mean it's the whole reason why all the book is written, isn't it? I found it wasn't and that after all I prefered the character's problems (all of them have their lives fucked-up in some way) than having to stand a shabby school-investigation. I wasn't quite convinced about the book's ending due to the fact that all the thing about the relationship had to be solved in a fast and little credible way.

3,5/5

Thanks to Abrams and Collins for the copy
